KENYA In this PowerPoint we will be telling you about all the different facts about Kenya such as its history, flag , people and wildlife.
Nairobi <ul><li>The capital city of Kenya is Nairobi which was founded in the 1890’s as a British railroad camp. The population in Nairobi is 3 million and research tells us that it will have raised to 3.8 million by 2015. This is the Nairobi flag. </li></ul>
Tribes <ul><li>There are many tribes in Kenya such as kikuyu, meru, gusii, embu & akamba. We will be telling you about BANTU. Bantu is the largest tribe alongside these other tribes and are the wealthiest. They earned their wealth by there excellent farming skills. </li></ul>
RELIGION <ul><li>The biggest religion in Kenya is Christianity. It was first brought to Kenya in the fifteenth century by the Portuguese. In Kenya most people are protestant which make up 38% of the Christian religion. </li></ul>This is where African Christians worship.
Wildlife <ul><li>Most of the animals in Kenya are not in captivity but are outside in the wild. Although there are a few wildlife parks and reserves where the animals are treated well and cared for. </li></ul>
History Palaeontologists believe people may first have inhabited Kenya about 2 million years ago. In the 700s, Arab seafarers established settlements along the coast, and the Portuguese took control of the area in the early 1500s. More than 40 ethnic groups reside in Kenya. Its largest group, the Kikuyu, migrated to the region at the beginning of the 18th century.
