2. YOUNG MAN
Role: Main Protagonist
Age: Late 20s
He is focal point of the short film. This is because he is the character who has had
his life go down the drain, his life will turn upside down when he finds “DEAD OLD
MAN”. And when he obtains the briefcase. The younger man would be represented
as very low on life, one that feels like they have got nothing left and as the film
progresses, you will see the character’s development from a greedy thief to a man
with a moral conscience.
The actor who plays YOUNG MAN will need to be built in
size, and be also quite melancholy in his portrayal. He will also
need to be available a lot as the majority of the shots involve him.
3. DEAD MIDDLE AGED MAN
Role- Less developed, minor, protagonist
Age: Late 30s
This character will appear throughout the first few minutes of the short and acts
as almost a catalyst character. Without this character we would not see the
development of the main protagonist. It’s “DEAD MIDDLE AGED MAN’S” death
that triggers the impulsive decision from “YOUNG MAN”.
The actor playing this character will have to look middle aged, out
of shape and not very well kept.
4. MYSTERIOUS NEW GUY
Role: Minor character
Age: Early 20s
After the demise of the main protagonist “YOUNG MAN”, this character comes
in- stealing the briefcase in an almost parallel manner to how “YOUNG MAN”
obtained the briefcase. “MYSTERIOUS NEW GUY” would help bring the circular
narrative together.
The actor playing this character will have to be quite tall, around
6 foot 3 and be very slim in figure.
