of the community

network of highly experienced technology experts,
influencers and thought leaders who actively support
developers, companies and tech communities by
speaking at events, publishing content. These
professionals actively contribute to and support the
developer and startup ecosystems around the world,
helping them build and launch highly innovative apps.

14. Women Techmakers is a global program that celebrates women,
encouraging them to pursue and excel in technology careers.
âOur goal is to inspire passionate, creative women through
discussions with thought leaders, technical workshops, design
sprints and networking opportunities,â said Natalie Villalobos,
Googleâs Women in Technology Advocate leading Women
Techmakers. âOverall, we aim to tear down the boundaries inhibiting
women from participating in the industry.â
To accomplish this, Google created a global event series for
International Womenâs Day and our own Telle Whitney joined the
Mountain View Summit.
This past International Womenâs Day, 11,000 women benefited from
these 128 events across 52 countries. Summits were held at Google
offices around the globe, along with meetups at several universities
and with Google Developer Group chapters.

What is solution Challenge?
An annual contest that invites students from Developer
Student Club communities to develop solutions for local
community problems using one or more Google products
or platforms.
23. The 2021 Solution Challenge mission was to solve for one or more of the United
Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals using Google technology.

Top 50 teams :
Receive mentorship from Google and other experts
to improve and submit a solution for the top prize.
Top 10 finalists:
Win a 1 year subscription to Pluralsight, swag,
additional customized mentoring from Google, and a feature in
the Google Developers Blog and Demo Day live on YouTube.
Top 3 winners:
Win all the prizes included in the Top 10 category
along with a Chromebook and a coffee chat with a Google
executive.

1. Does the entry establish a clear challenge focused on one or more of the
United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals? Is it explained in a
clear manner with specific Sustainable Development Goal targets they are
looking to solve for? [10]
2. How effectively does the solution address the challenge identified by the
team? [20]
3. Is there evidence of a next step? Does the team display a plan for future
extension if they were to continue? [10]
4. Is there evidence that the solution has been thoroughly tested with real
users? [10]
5. Is there evidence that the solution was iterated upon based on user
feedback? [10]
TECHNOLOGY - 40 POINTS
1. Does the solution implement all the technical components needed to solve
the challenge? [10]
2. Has the team clearly explained what Google technology they used, why
and included guidance on how to run their code? [10]
3. Does the video demonstration show the working solution and how a user
will interact with the solution? Does the demonstration highlight how the
Google technologies are implemented and also mention the value the
technology provides the users? [10]
4. Has the team made effective product and technical decisions for their
solution? [10]
A panel of judges from Google will use the following criteria to
evaluate and score all submissions.
