Problem Analysis <ul><li>Most of the pressing environmental problems in the Viet Tri urban area relate to the industrialisation and use of outdated production technology, combined with deficient municipal services. </li></ul><ul><li>The rapid industrial and urban development during the first decades of the city was not managed in a sustainable manner. </li></ul><ul><li>Therefore, a major effort is required to correct the situation and secure a safe human living environment together with improved socio-economic conditions. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Development Objective <ul><li>The environment in selected urban areas sustainably improved; pollution from selected industries reduced and occupational health and safety in selected industries enhanced. </li></ul>

Immediate Objectives <ul><li>Strategy and Action Plans for management of domestic/industrial waste and wastewater and cleaner production within industry in Viet Tri area in the process of approval. </li></ul><ul><li>Capacity on environmental planning and management in Provincial authorities, Community representatives and industrial management improved, and co-operation between stakeholders enhanced through visible demo-projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Application for Soft Loan financing of domestic and industrial wastewater treatment positively screened. </li></ul>
