Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is caused by an imbalance in the normal bacteria that exists in a woman's vagina. BV is the most common vaginal infection in women of childbearing age and it is estimated that approximately 10 % - 30 % pregnant women will experience BV during their pregnancy.
