  2. 2. The 4-1-1 Many growing small businesses have neither the time nor the resources to create and execute on a social media strategy – and marketing agencies are no different. A full-service, award-winning agency, which we’ll call ABC Co., was growing so quickly that they kept pushing “social media marketing” to the backburner. Jansen Communications stepped in to develop and implement a consistent strategy that would help ABC Co. meet their goals – increasing thought leadership and brand awareness.

Our Approach Because ABC Co. already had an established (but not active) presence on several social media platforms, our first step was to evaluate where to focus our efforts to yield the best ROI and what topics resonated the most with ABC Co.’s target markets. Based on our findings, we: Decided to focus on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn (in that order). Built a social media editorial calendar. Filled the editorial calendar with topic ideas for original, thought- leadership blog posts and curated articles, leaving room for breaking industry news to demonstrate the client kept their finger on the pulse of industry trends. Wrote conversational copy to encourage dialogue. Monitored conversations and responded to all comments.
  4. 4. The Results Once we began publishing content on each channel Monday through Friday, the results were immediate. During the first month alone, Facebook page engagement was up by 12.5% and weekly total reach was up by 902.3%. Audience size and engagement levels also grew on Twitter and LinkedIn. It was clear to ABC Co. that handing off social media marketing would consistently keep them in the conversations that were happening online – and ultimately help them meet their goals.
