Colibri Resource Corporation currently has five promising exploration properties at various stages of exploration in the Sonora Gold Belt. The state’s mineral-rich area is home to miners such as Fresnillo – Mexico’s largest gold producer and the world’s leading silver producer.
Under the Mexican constitution, minerals are part of the national patrimony and the mining industry is supported by a well-structured regulatory framework. The law permits up to 100% private ownership in exploration, development and production of mineral substances.
This legislation has helped attract more than 250 private exploration companies to Mexico, with operations concentrated in the northern states of Sonora, Zacatecas and Chihuahua.
Colibri’s five Sonora properties are located in or near a free-trade zone, which facilitates cross-border movement and general busi- ness. The properties enjoy ease of access, well-developed infrastructure, an available pool of skilled labour and a large degree of common logistics, owing to the sites’ relative proximity to each other.

Incorporated in 2004, Colibri Resource Corp. (CBI-TSXV) is a
Canadian junior formed explicitly “to acquire and explore historical
mining districts in Mexico.”
The company currently has five promising
exploration properties at various stages
of exploration in the Sonora Gold Belt. The
state’s mineral-rich area is home to miners
such as Fresnillo – Mexico’s largest gold
producer and the world’s leading silver
producer.
Under the Mexican constitution, minerals are
part of the national patrimony and the mining
industry is supported by a well-structured
regulatory framework. The law permits up
to 100% private ownership in exploration,
development and production of mineral
substances.
This legislation has helped attract more

ness. The properties enjoy ease of access,
well-developed infrastructure, an available

relative proximity to each other.
“The Evelyn property’s claim size is significant enough to hold a world class goldmine,”
says Colibri head, Ron Goguen.

Mexico’s hidden treasures made
headlines in 1989 with the dis-
covery of largest gold nugget
from the western hemisphere
still in existence. Known as the
Boot of Cortez, the impressive
rockweighsinatamassive389.4
troy ounces of high purity gold.
According to the story, a local
prospector in the state of
Sonora bought an inexpensive
metal detector from Radio
Shack and unearthed the nugget
after finding some nails, a few
bullets and other junk.
“History is on our side,” says Ron Goguen.
“And we’re not relying on random finds by Radio Shack metal detectors.”

IN THE STEPS OF CORTEZ
Colibri’s Evelyn site is believed to lie just five kilometres from where the Boot of Cortez was found
and the miner is confident more riches lie beneath the surface of the 506-hectare claim. Rock sam-
pling, soil sampling and high-tech geological mapping have been completed, with drilling started in
February 2020.

PROJECT BRIEFS
EVELYN PROJECT
Great location and growth potential are
among the many advantages of the Evelyn
Project, which is 100% owned by Colibri.
Located 150 kilometres northwest of
Hermosillo, Sonora’s capital and largest
city, the 506-hectare site appreciates easy
access.
Designated as a Significant New Discovery,
the site enjoys open pit potential and con-
tains free gold in oxide ore type, with oro-
genic mineralization. Historical and current
artisanal placer mining activity has been
conducted on the property, with initial soil
and rock chip sampling work completed.
Systematic geological mapping is underway
and quartz vein in outcrop sampled an aver-
age of 10 g/t Au over 200 m.

PROJECT BRIEFS
EL MEZQUITE PROJECT
El Mezquite is easily reached by ranch
road, 10 kilometres northwest of Tepoca
and a drive of just over three hours from
Hermosillo. The strategic location allows for
accessible infrastructure and a skilled work-
force. The 180-hectare site has the poten-
tial to host low grade/large tonnage deposits
with high sulphidation mineralization. Of
321 rock chip samples, 42 showed high
values of >0.10 g/t Au and up to 3.41 g/t
Au & 198 g/t Ag.
A 3DIP & mag survey has been completed
over the eastern side of property with drill tar-
gets identified. (An anomalous 300m x 600m
mineralized zone has also been identified.)
El Mezquite has a history of artisanal mining
(30 m adit into highly altered/oxidized rock).
An assessment of additional “chargeability”
anomalies is required on the west side
of the property, which has historic obras
(workings).

PROJECT BRIEFS
PILAR PROJECT
The 105-hectare Pilar Project is 100% owned
by Colibri, with no NSR (Net Smelter Return).
The site has open pit potential and was
recently optioned 51% to Tocvan Ventures.
Accessible by road, Pilar is located 140 kilo-
metres southeast of Hermosillo.Three miner-
alizedzoneshavebeendrilltestedandremain
open in several directions, while several
untested targets show great promise.
Completed work includes over 18,000m of
drilling as well as 2650m of channel/trench
sampling/mapping/3DIP.
Trench samples yield results as high as
28.6 g/t Au over 6m, 3.39 g/t Au over 50m
and 55.4 g/t Au over 3m. Of 739 rock-chip
samples and 87 Soil Samples (mapped), 92
Samples averaged 1.22 g/t Au in 2009.
Other site characteristics include oxidiza-
tion, heap leach potential, moderate sulphi-
dation in the southeast and highly fractured,
epithermal mineralization.

PROJECT BRIEFS
PITAYA PROJECT(Joint venture with Agnico)
The Pitaya Joint Venture is an advanced stage exploration project
whereby Colibri owns 24.45% and Agnico owns. Completed work on
the 6564-hectare site includes mapping, geophysics, soil samples
and 3D modelling.
Pitaya is located on the Caborca Orogenic Belt in northwest Sonora, an area known for its
gold-rich quartz veins. Exploration just two kilometres east at Fresnillo’s Tajitos Project has
yielded 400K Oz Au.
Other nearby mines include Fresnillo’s La Herradura (>10MM OzAu), Nouche Buena
(>1 MM OzAu) and Soledad Dipolos (>400K OzAu). Los Almos’ El Chante mine (>1 MM Oz Au)
lies 30 kilometres southeast of Pitaya.
