searching for information about you, including
potential employers.
• You should start thinking about your digital
footprint now:
– Remove unwanted information.
– Promote yourself.
– Help your (future) job search.

In 2014 recruiters consulted the following
social media sites to shortlist candidates1:

• If you don’t use social media1…
– You’re less likely to be found.
– You are missing an opportunity to demonstrate
your technical and social skills.
– You may be passed over in favour of people with
strong social media profiles.
• However, profiles containing unprofessional
content may harm your job prospects2.

• 16% revealed their religious views.
• 10% showed photos of the users intoxicated.

other people’s ideas by re-tweeting.
