Siam & Greece Compare/Contrast Essay
        Siam, a great cultural Asian empire and Greece, a beautiful Mediterranean empire. Both are somewhat alike and somewhat different, but they might have crossed paths before in the Silk Road and traded some ideas. Siam and Greece believed in a higher power that a god is making life happen, but in the other hand they both believed in completely different gods.
Siam was more Asian influenced art and Greece were more realistic beauty, but they both sculpted or painted important events, gods, or myths. They both told their own myths and believed in them, but they had their own ways. Siam and Greece are completely different, but at the same time somewhat alike in culture.
        Siam and Greece both believed in gods and that there was someone controlling them. Religion was very important to them in their everyday lives. It is something they have in common, but they also differ in this way. Siam only believed in one god and their official religion was Buddhist.
While Greeks are polytheistic meaning they believed in more than one god. They had many different gods to worship and sometimes each city-state had their own representing them Both Siam and Greece worshiped their gods in the most highest way even surrounding themselves with images of them.
         Siam and Greece had their own type of art, but their main focuses were sculpting and painting. They mostly painted major events and sculpted heroes and gods. Greece is very well known for its beautiful realistic sculptures of human forms. Greeks are also known to portraying a feeling through their arts and making it feel like their gods are much more beautiful and powerful than any other mortal.
Siam is more about their god Buddha, they create many sculptures and statues of him. They are known for the large temples with almost 18 feet tall Buddha statues. Both their arts are very similar, but they also change in their technique and style.
         Mythology is one major thing Siam and Greece have in common. They both had heroes, gods, nobles, and other characters in their myths. Also they told their stories through theater or just orally. However Greek myths are more about morals and can go through a range of comedy, tragedy, and drama. While Siam is more about entertainment and are mostly dramas. Each differ, but their have somewhat the same plots.
Two different empires from different sides of the world, can have something’s in common. Siam and Greece both believe in a type of religion, but two completely different kinds. They also created beautiful sculptures and paintings, however had two ways of creating them. Greek myths had moral meanings behind them, unlike Siam whose myths are more for entertainment. Both empires from different worlds, sharing basic culture together.
