  1. 1. FINDING RFPS Compiled by Steven Vincent
June 27, 2007 RFP (Request for Proposal) is the process by which a corporate department or governmental agency requests bids to acquire equipment or services. RFPs from governments are often listed in the legal documents section of newspapers. RFPs from companies may appear in industry trade journals. This guide separates information sources into two categories: Private Sector (privately- held companies and public corporations) and Public Sector (state, local and federal govern- ments). Once you have identified RFPs, it is a good idea to find out something about the company or government agency issuing the RFP. Private Sector GALILEO : Business & Economics : Company Information.
