  3. 3. It is a pleasure to warmly welcome you to Wicklow for the Gathering 2013.Over the past months communities from all parts of the county have cometogether to organise gatherings, conferences, festivals and events to celebrateeverything that Wicklow has to offer. In 2012 Wicklow won first place and the gold award at the world LivCom awards. This reflected not only the landscape of Co. Wicklow as one of mountains, rolling foothills, forests, coastline and lakes - all with magnificent views and therich heritage of the county; but also our wonderful community spirit. It is thiscommunity spirit that awaits our visitors this year. Our events embrace everypart of our social identity from our heritage to our music, from the arts to sport. Our three flagship festivals for the Gathering – the Greystones Arts Festivalover the June Bank Holiday,HollywoodFair in August and CanadaComeHomein September will indeed carry the flag for the county but this does not detractfrom the other wonderful vibrant events that are taking place throughout theyear. It has been a pleasure for the council to work with Fáilte Ireland, WicklowTourism, County Wicklow Partnership and the Wicklow Gathering SteeringCommittee. I would like to thank Brendan Martin, Head of Library Services inWicklow who has spearheaded this initiative for the county.I wish every success to all the Gatherings in Wicklow but most importantly wewish all our visitors a wonderful stay in our Garden County and hope you have avery memorable experience.Céad Míle FáilteEddie SheehyManagerWicklow County CouncilWelcome to Wicklow 2013!Bray Bridge Gathering 31stAugust- Braybmartin@wicklowcoco.ie / 087 220 3152Clan O’Byrne Family Gathering 4th-6th Woodenbridgeeobrien@woodenbridgehotel.com / 087 237 8389Hell & Back 6thOctober Brayaidan.walsh@aliveoutside.ie / 01 202 0100GlenofLeadIndustrialLandscapesConference 17th-19th Glendaloughdburns@wicklowcoco.ieFootfalls Wicklow Walking Festival 25thOctober Glendaloughinfo@walkinghikingireland.com / 0404 45152Gathering of the Fleet Arklow Maritime Fest 2nd-5thAugust Arklowwww.facebook.com/GatheringoftheFleetArklowMaritimeFest / mark@alaymont.com / 086826 0439Bray Summerfest 2nd-5thAugust Braybraysummerfest@gmail.comGreystones Americana and Roots Weekend 2nd-5thAugust Greystoneswww.rootsweekend.com / americanaweekend@gmail.comWicklow Regatta Festival 2nd-5thAugust Wicklow Townwww.wicklowregatta.comTinahely Agricultural Show 5thAugust Tinahelywww.tinahelyshow.ie / claireannwalsh@yahoo.com / 087 989 2485WicklowGatheringInternationalSheafTossing 5thAugust Tinahelywww.tinahelyshow.ie / claireannwalsh@yahoo.com / 087 989 2485The Hollywood Fair 14th-18thAugust Hollywoodwww.thehollywoodfair.com / hollywoodfair@gmail.com / 045 483608Ladies International Polo Tournament 17thAugust Wicklowwww.polowicklow.com / siobhan@polowicklow.com / 087 286 9691The Greystones Gathering 24th-25th Greystonesburnabyresidents@gmail.com / 086 814 6926 GravityEnduroRound4MountainBikeEvent 7thSeptember Roundwoodwww.gravityenduro.ie / info@gravityenduro.ie / 083 417 3899Glendalough Lake Swim 7thSeptember Glendaloughwww.openwaterswimmer.ieOperation Shamrock Gathering 7th-8thSept Glencreemiriam.murphy@glencree.ieCanada Come Home 13th-15thSept Coolatinwww.facebook.com/canadacomehome / canadacomehome@gmail.com / 086 251 7361WAR Wicklow Adventure Race Powerscourt 14thSeptember Enniskerrywww.irishtriathlon.com / info@irishtriathlon.comEnniskerry Field Day 15thSeptember Enniskerrywww.facebook.com/enniskerryvictorianfielddayThe Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Run 21stSeptember Glen O’Downsgardenofirelandvcc@gmail.com / 087 832 9235ASKO International Karate Championships 21stSeptember Greystoneswww.askokarate.com / 01 287 3577Culture Night Wicklow 21stSeptember Wicklow Countywww.culturenight.ie / www.facebook.com/wicklowculturenightLa Touche Legacy - Conference and Reunion 27th-29th Greystoneswww.latouchelegacy.com / gjjones@eircom.netAugustSeptemberOctoberNovember1stSeptemberStories from Across the Waves 16th-24thNovember Braywww.mermaidartscentre.ie / info@mermaidartscentre.ie / 01 272 4030OctoberOctoberSeptemberAugustKnockanstockan IndependentMusic Festival 26th-28thJuly Blessingtonwww.knockanstockan.ie / bettine@knockanstockan.ieWAR Wicklow Adventure Race Glenmalure 27thJuly Glenmalurewww.irishtriathlon.com / info@irishtriathlon.comThe Kiltegan Gathering Throughout the Year Kiltegantmk@utvinternet.com / 086 357 2493Wicklow Film
