Kinesiology Taping of the Quadriceps Femoris

  1. 1. Meridius Medical presents
  2. 2. Identify the quadriceps femoris muscle
  3. 3. Measure the length of the muscle with tape
  4. 4. Cut the tape to length
  5. 5. Cut one end of the tape in half to facilitate the knee
  6. 6. Round the edges of the opposite end
  7. 7. Round the edges of the forked end, as well
  8. 8. Tear through and remove the backing paper from the single rounded end
  9. 9. Anchor the rounded end of the tape over the origin of the quadriceps femoris muscle
  10. 10. Remove the paper backing as you place the remainder of the tape over the length of muscle
  11. 11. As you approach the knee, place the forked ends around either end of the kneecap
  12. 12. Apply each end of the forked strip on opposite ends of the kneecap
  13. 13. The two ends of the tape should meet at the center below the kneecap
  14. 14.
