Merideth’s favorite books

  1. 1. Merideth’s Favorite Books (or, at least some of them!)
  2. 2. “And if my choice is to sit graciously in my best robes and accept the inevitable or to bail a sea with a bucket, give me the bucket.” Chalice by Robin McKinley
  3. 3. m/watch?v=sjqA9TYtIQE “It's like being in love, discovering your best friend.” Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein Book Trailer
  4. 4. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.” The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  5. 5. “Some people had too much power and too much cruelty to live. Some people were too horrible, no matter if you loved them; no matter that you had to make yourself terrible too, in order to stop them. Some things just had to be done.” Fire by Kristin Cashore
  6. 6. “I know what you're thinking - that anybody with proper sensitive feelings would rather scrub floors for a living. But I should scrub floors very badly, and I write detective stories rather well. I don't see why proper feelings should prevent me from doing my proper job.” Gaudy Night by Dorothy L. Sayers
  7. 7. “Grown-ups don't look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they're big and thoughtless and they always know what they're doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. Truth is, there aren't any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.” The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
  8. 8. “She wasn't interested in telling other people's futures. She was interested in going out and finding her own.” The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. Book Trailer
  9. 9. “The Lower City is MINE, its people are MINE. If I find them that's doing all this kidnapping and murdering, they'd best pray for mercy, because once I get my teeth in 'em I will NEVER let them go.” Terrier by Tamora Pierce
  10. 10. Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia by Greg Rucka and J.G. Jones
  11. 11. Merideth has been working in libraries since 1990, most of them as a Teen Librarian. She is the author of Library Collections for Teens: Graphic Novels and Manga from VOYA Press. She is currently the administrative librarian for public service at the Main Library in Glendale, Arizona. When not trapped in meetings or buried in schedules, she enjoys crocheting, comics, embarrassing her teen daughter, skinny British actors and YA fiction. Merideth Jenson-Benjamin
