  • It’s a question I’m often asked, at the launch, mid-point review or final event of a mentoring program, and it’s a valid one. “Who mentors the mentors?” \n
  • We expect mentors to facilitate conversations, manage the relationship and solve any problems that arise. It’s pretty ironic if we don’t give them mentoring for their role, isn’t it?\n
  • Unsupported, mentoring can fizzle out because, people get busy and mentoring slips as a priority;\n\n
  • Without guidance, feedback and support, mentors don’t have a way of improving their skills; and,\n\n
  • \nIf problems arise, they feel isolated and it becomes easier to let mentoring slide.\n\n
  • With more and more organisations expecting mentoring to achieve strategic outcomes, it’s never been more important to make sure you get it right. \n
  • If you are training mentors you are off to a good start. If you give mentors the opportunity to network with each other, keep learning and be mentored you are ahead of the game.\n\n
  • Our mentor-the-mentor program provides a forum for mentors to ask questions, interact with their peers and get feedback;\n\n
  • Our mentor-the-mentor program provides a forum for mentors to ask questions, interact with their peers and get feedback;\n\n
  • We continue their education and development as mentors by giving them tips, tools and techniques; and through our online tutorials\n\n
  • Plus, we ensure that mentors experience expert mentoring for themselves. \n\n
  • Hi, I’m Ann Rolfe of Mentoring Works. I have sixteen years experience specialising in mentoring. \n\n
  • I have assisted people and organizations in fields as diverse as health, construction, energy, communications, law and government to get the most out of mentoring. \n\n\n
  • Our unique mentor the mentor program gives comprehensive support to mentors (and we provide the same service separately to mentorees). Participants have the opportunity to network with each other, keep learning and access resources.\n\n
  • Your mentors can now enjoy:\n\n1.Connecting with other mentors who share a passion for mentoring;\n2.Gaining knowledge and expertise; and\n3.Personal mentoring on the mentoring role\n\n
  • so, the Mentor-the-mentor program is for you if: your organisation has, or is about to implement a mentoring strategy; and \n\n
  • You want to ensure that mentoring achieves outcomes valued by individuals and the organisation;\n\n
  • Here’s how it works …\n\nMentor-the-Mentor is an interactive, multi-media, remotely delivered program especially for mentors that I facilitate personally.\n\nThere are three components of the Mentor-the-Mentor program:\n\n\n

  • The Mentor Community is like a private, password protected Facebook for mentors. \nYour mentors become part of an online community of people engaged in mentoring. \n\n•Connect with other mentors through messages and online chat\n•Participate in member-only forums where they can discuss issues and share ideas;\n•Access information and answers 24/7.\n\n\n
  • Resource Centre\n\n•Videos\n•Podcasts\n•Articles\n•e-books\n\n\n\n
  • Mentors get a step-by-step guide to building the mentoring relationship, with tools and templates that they can download and use\nincluding\n\n•Mentoring Agreement\n•Pre & Post Meeting Checklist\n•Meeting Guide\n•Debrief\n\n
  • We email regular Mentoring Tips that keep people engaged and motivated.\n
  • then, group mentoring, in the monthly webinars, builds knowledge and skills and facilitates discussion of issues and ideas, wherever people are\n\n
  • The e-Learning Portal\nis a doorway to self-paced learning. Inside are audio-visual tutorials with downloadable worksheets. e-Learning may complement live workshops or be used as pre-work or post-session. The modules can stand alone as a program of learning for those unable to attend face-to-face training.\n\n
  • Mentors can access the short, self-paced tutorials when and where it suits them.\n•\n\n\n
