7. ChanceAll these elements helped me in framing my film as a surrealist short film. I looked at films by Bunuel and Lynch to base my research around. Surrealism follows a non-linear narrative in most cases, another feature I decided to use in my own short film. The elements I actually used in my short film was desire to shock, close proximity to death and sexual desire. Films such as Eraserhead, Lost Highway and Phantom of Liberty helped me in terms of advancing my knowledge of Surrealism, even though they are feature length films.
