Editor's Notes

  1. Do you have a burning desire to learn how to swim?  Swimming is arguably one of the most complete forms of exercise because it exercises all of the major muscle groups in the body as well as the cardio respiratory system.  As well as exercise, swimming is a great way to relax and escape, but the learning process is not always straight forward and can often throw ,many barriers in the path of beginners learning to swim.

It is the act of floating or moving progressively in the water by the hand's and feet 8

  6. Respiratory-V 10
  7. Circulatory- Can you remember what those answer? Do you have any idea what is our topoc for today?
  8. Equilibrium is defined as a state of balance or a stable situation where opposing forces cancel each other out and where no changes are occurring. An example of equilibrium is in economics when supply and demand are equal.(balance) A proportion is two ratios that have been set equal to each other; These muscle groups all work as one to make one major functioning body, The muscles work together to propel your body through the water. For example, as you roll your arms over, you are using the deltoid muscle, then as you continue on the stroke as it enters the water, you stretch your stroke, using the latissimus dorsi and the pectoralis major. Then as you are pulling yourself through the water, you dip your forearm, then pull the water, which uses the biceps brachii. As you roll yourself over to do another stroke, you are using your core muscles. Whilt doing this you are continuously pumping your legs, making sure you are kicking from the hips, putting a large amount of pressure on the gluteus maximus and the quadriceps. Muscular System Swimming uses almost every muscle in your body. Swimming mainly works the muscles in your arms and legs like your biceps, triceps, your calves and hamstrings. It also works your shoulders, chest and abs, so that your are able to float easier in the water. Swimming provides no impact on the major joints in the body and therefore can be safe for most of us do.
  9. Respiratory System The Respiratory System is the system that helps you breathe, you would not be able to stay underwater without your respiratory system. Therefore you would not be able to swim. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM Without the Respiratory System you couldn’t stay underwater in that case you wouldn’t be able to swim. Swimming is an excellent form of exercise. Swimming is primarily an aerobic exercise due to the long exercise time, requiring a constant oxygen supply to the muscles, except for short sprints where the muscles work anaerobically. As with most aerobic exercise it is believed to reduce the harmful effects of stress.
  10. Swimming includes your c…. Swimming directly affects the heart by letting the heart pump with less oxygen without over working it.
  11. Next is to understand your buoyancy and your own ability to float only then will you begin to relax and appreciate the water. Regaining a standing position from a prone or supine position is an important step to gaining confidence. Important things to develop first in swimming
  12. Self-confidence gives you the courage and enthusiasm to take risks and chase the outer reaches of your limits. Act as if you are confident. If self-doubt continues in spite of efforts to ignore it or counter it, just pretend to be confident. Act as if you are, and the amazing thing is that you will likely feel more confident. Studies show the simple act of smiling can lighten our moods. It's the same trick when you act confident. Your body sends the message to your brain that you actually are confident. Because this message is contending with our thoughts about how unsure you are, you may not feel entirely confident, but it sure can help. And eventually the message from your behaviors, poise, and facial expression may just conquer the doubt. Imagine the most confident swimmer you can think of and mimic the way he or she acts. Stand tall with your chest up and shoulders back. Look straight ahead rather than down. Shake your arms and legs and jump up and down with big, sure movements. Step up like you are excited and just can't wait to race. By acting as if you've got it, by having fun and reducing the pressure, by affirming your ability and countering the doubt, by breathing to center, and by interpreting the anxious feelings as a sign you are ready, you can defeat the nerves, worry, and fear you feel before a race. You can work with the water rather than fighting it.
  13. This is which you can practice different types of skill in water. When youre finished unscrambling all the words
  14. Recreational activities are often done for enjoyment, amusement, or pleasure and are considered to be "fun". The most common purpose for swimming is recreation. Recreational swimming is considered by many a good way to relax, while enjoying a good full-body workout. Several swimming styles are suitable for recreational swimming; most recreational swimmers prefer a style that keeps their head out of the water and has an underwater arm recovery. Breaststroke, side stroke, and 'dog paddle', are the most common strokes utilized in recreational swimming, but the out-of-water arm recovery of freestyle or butterfly gives rise to better exploitation of the difference in resistance between air and water.
  15. Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with events in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Swimming is an event at the Summer Olympic Games, where male and female athletes compete in 16 of the recognized events each. Olympic events are held in a 50-meter pool, called a long course pool. The international governing body for competitive swimming is the Fédération Internationale de Natation ("International Swimming Federation"), better known as FINA. The goal of competitive swimming is to be the fastest to swim a given distance. In competitive swimming, four major styles have been established. These have been relatively stable over the last 30–40 years with minor improvements. They are: Butterfly (fly) Backstroke (back) Breaststroke (breast) Freestyle (free)
  16. Some occupations require the workers to swim. For example, abalone divers or pearl divers swim and dive to obtain an economic benefit, Coast Guard. Swimming is also used in marine biology to observe plants and animals in their natural habitat.
