  2. 2. Everyone wants to be BIG. But do you know the easiest way to be BIG? “Be In Gratitude”. This might seem an innocent sentence at a glance, but don‟t get misled by it. It indeed has the power to transform the entire outlook of life. It is all about changing the way you look at life and people in general. It is a great way – the way of gratitude. 'Gratitude' has come from the Latin word gratus, which mean 'pleasing' or 'thankful„.
  3. 3. You need to be grateful for every single thing that helps you in life. One really humbling experience is to express gratitude to your footwear. Sounds ridiculous? You have never done it before? Then do it right now. Take a minute to go to your footwear and tell it from the bottom of your heart that you are grateful to it for the way it protects your feet. Tell your footwear that you value it. Do it now. Pay attention to your feelings while you do it. You will realize the importance of this exercise the next time you wear your footwear.
  4. 4. What about people? Learn to care for people and be grateful for what they have given you. Be grateful to every single person you know. Don‟t leave yourself out. Similarly you can be grateful to every event of your life. You can be thankful because the worst could have happened. So thank everyone. And grow to become BIG- Be In Gratitude.
  5. 5. Exercise: 1. Sit in a calm and quite place. Starting from your hair to toes, express gratitude to each and every part of your body. 2. Remember the most unpleasant incidents of your life and find out at least five reasons to be grateful that it happened. 3. Learn to thank the abstract forces of nature for the weather, sunshine etc. 4. Never go to bed before writing your today‟s gratitude list everyday.
  6. 6. Keep a note of what changes are taking place in your life after starting this practice. You will understand that gratitude is the best attitude. Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don't unravel. This is all about the betterment of your life using gratitude.
  7. 7. Practicing mindfulness with gratitude leads you to a direct feeling of connected to life. It also brings the realization that there is a wider context in which your personal story is unfolding. Getting relieved of the never ending worries and wants of your life, even temporarily, is liberating. Gratitude elicits the feelings of generosity that create happiness. Gratitude has a power to soften a heart that has become too guarded. Gratitude builds the capacity for forgiveness that creates the clarity of mind.
