2. Summary
• In this tutorial, you’ll explore the graphs of
Linear Functions. The steps in the tutorial
include:
– Creating a Graph Window.
– Graphing functions of these forms:
y = mx
y = mx + b

3. Create a Graph Window
Click on the +tool to activate this menu.

4. Input the Function
By default the keyboard is active.

5. Input the Function
Input the function shown. Press Enter.
f1(x) = x

6. Graph the Function
This is the basic graph of a Linear Function. Its slope is 1 and its
y-intercept is 0.

7. Edit the Function
Click on the + sign at the upper right to bring up the
Function Entry line. Then press the up arrow. You’ll see
f1(x).

8. Edit the Function
Change the function to the one shown above. Then
press Enter. The orientation of the graph changes.
f1(x) = -x

9. Edit the Function
Now change the function to the one shown above.
Press Enter. A greater slope value leads to a steeper
graph.

Now change the function to the one shown above.
Press Enter. A lesser value for slope leads to a less steep
line.
