If you are taking a vacation this season with family or friends, try to avoid also taking a vacation from a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are going abroad or staying in your own backyard, MeMD has outlined 15 steps you can take to stay out of harms way. For example, before leaving on an international trip make sure your immunizations are up-to-date.

  4. 4. Tip 3: Check for Vaccinations 4 §  For international travel, update your immunizations well before your trip, as most vaccines take time to become effective
  5. 5. Tip 4: Speak with Your Health Insurance Company 5 §  For international travel, check with your heath insurance provider to make sure you are covered abroad
  6. 6. Tip 5: Speak with Your Credit Card Company 6 §  Avoid financial mishaps by informing your credit card company of all travel plans
  7. 7. Tip 6: Watch What You Eat 7 §  Eat at trusted or recommended restaurants §  Slim down portions and follow a set time-schedule for meals
