That’s why, keeping leaders in the front and center in the workplace always helps. Leaders always play a vital role in an organization, whether it’s the sharing of Company’s progress or accomplishments, or guiding an employee to help him succeed. So, here comes the 3 ways to increase Leadership presence at the workplace.
  5. 5. 1. Always utilize different communication channels • Make sure to best utilize the communication channels you have, or it’s also good to create some new ones. • To better connect with employees and to make the message more human, try to include the leader’s “voice” in all communications. This can be done by using the current communication channels. So, take advantage of opportunities, balance your leader’s communication program, and let your leader provide meaning and context for an issue. • A blog or webcast can also be created as a new communication vehicle that will help sharing his or her personal perspective, experiences, some relevant facts and a big picture information. • Tip: Whenever your leader says something meaningful and memorable (even if you helped shape it), highlight these quotes in sidebars or callouts of news articles.
  6. 6. 2. Interactive town hall meetings • Meaningful dialogue in town hall meetings always helps in building employee confidence and trust in leaders, because they get this rare opportunity to interact live with senior leaders. • To let employees feel more engaged in the topic, while having town hall meetings, create an agenda that includes audience participation. You can still share important information, but carve out time for activities. • Tip: If your employees are global, go global then local. The first half of the session can be devoted to a virtual message from a top leader to all locations. Then, hold an “local” meeting led by another leader where employees can interact and participate.
  7. 7. 3. Try informal group meetings • Pick a specific topic and discuss it out on coffee chats or lunches with boss, these less formal meetings give some great opportunity to employees to make them feel heard. • Senior leaders are constantly traveling to different sites for meetings, so look for opportunities to schedule employee events while they are in town. Your leader will send a message that employees are valued by including them in the visit. • Tip: Create a friendly, around-the-campfire dynamic in the meeting hall by letting your leader seated at the same level as employees. Though, this is a minor point, but create some big impact.
