Keller, MD Facial Plastic Surgeon, Santa Barbara CASPECIALITY Facial Plastic Surgery, Hair Transplantation, and Rejuvalase.Dr. Keller is internationally recognized as an expert, pioneer, and innovator in the fieldof plastic surgery. He has practiced Facial Plastic Surgery in Southern California since1976. Dr. Keller, who invented endoscopic facial plastic surgery (including theendoscopic face, forehead, and neck lift), is experienced in this technique. He haspublished two textbooks and numerous medical journal articles in the field of facialplastic surgery and is the director of the Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at UCLA. Dr.Keller is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and NeckSurgery and the American Board of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a diplomatof the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Keller also is a Clinical AssociateClinical Professor od Surgery at the University of Los Angeles (UCLA) and is the Directorof the Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the UCLA Medical School where he wasawarded the "Clinical Teaching Award/Division of Head and Neck Surgery" in 1988. Dr. Kellers second medical textbook, Laser in Facial Plastic Surgery, will be published inthe fall of 1999.Facial plastic surgery holds a unique place in Dr. Kellers personal life. While pursuing a career in cardio-vascular surgery atthe University of Illinois Medical School, Dr. Keller was in a very serious car accident. He sustained severe injuries andtrauma to his nose, eyes, cheeks and jaw and had to undergo extensive facial reconstructive surgery. While recuperating,Dr. Keller decided to change his medical direction and pursue a career as a facial plastic surgeon. Because of Dr. Kellersfirst-hand experience, he is very sensitive to the needs and concerns of his patients having been one himself.
