Anatomy of an Entrepreneur
(Part 2)
No matter how different their backgrounds
could be, entrepreneurs do share a
collection of core characteristics that are
essential for them to operate and create a
successful venture on their own
Internal Locus of Control
Do you think you have control of your destiny?
If your answer is yes then you have an
internal locus of control, which is a popular
trait among entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs believe that the events &
results they receive in their life are
mainly self-determined, and that they
have little belief in fate and the concept
of predestination
High Tolerance of Ambiguity
Entrepreneurs are often found to be more
tolerant towards ambiguity compares to
the general population
As they are more used to ambiguity, when
something uncertain happens, it might be
regarded by the entrepreneur as an
entertaining stimulus rather than a serious
threat to themselves
Creative & Innovative
Entrepreneurs like to create new things, and
most of them love the challenge of coming
up with new solutions for existing problems
The more unique & innovative their new
business/product/service is, the more the
entrepreneur will like it
Entrepreneurs are also people who like to
engage in the continual process of
upgrading ideas/products/services as their
business grows
