Who Am I <ul><li>I’m a Flash/Flex developer that has been doing Flash work from the tail-end of Flash 4 and the beginning of Flash 5 </li></ul><ul><li>I recently left Questrade, and start work at DesignAxiom in December </li></ul><ul><li>I’ve been doing a technical edit of Wrox’s Professional Flex 3 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Authored by: Joseph Balderson (aka JoeFlash), Andrew Trice , Peter Ent , Joe Berkovitz , Tom Sugden , Todd Prekaski , David Hassoun , and Jun Heider . </li></ul></ul>

Cocomo <ul><li>Cocomo is “Platform as a Service” that allows Flex developers build real-time multi-user applications </li></ul><ul><li>“ Cocomo” (a code name not the final name) stands for Common Collaboration Model </li></ul><ul><li>Cocomo is basically Acrobat.com’s ConnectNow broken up into components for Flex developers to use </li></ul><ul><li>Developers just have to focus on the Flex frontend code while the backend is maintained by Adobe, using the Acrobat.com infrastructure </li></ul>

Cocomo <ul><li>Cocomo’s features include: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>VoIP Audio </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Webcam Video </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Chat </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Multi-User Whiteboards </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Real-Time File Sharing </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>User Management </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Roles and Permissions </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Robust Data Messaging </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Cocomo is currently using an early pre-beta of Flash Media Server that takes advantage of the new P2P functionality in Flash Player 10 for direct client video and audio </li></ul><ul><li>Screen sharing found in ConnectNow is currently not available </li></ul><ul><li>SDK comes with a local server to test code offline </li></ul>

Cocomo <ul><li>The beta currently has the following restrictions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>25 concurrent users </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>15,000 cumulative user minutes per month </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>250,000 messages published per month </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>3 GB bandwidth (in + out) per month </li></ul></ul>
