1. Promotional methods is just the different ways in which a magazine promotes
itself using traditional methods and modern. Promoting my magazine is key
because the more people who know about my magazine the more potential
customers I have. Every magazine hopes to become one of the most recognised
nationwide such as NME in the UK and Vibe in America but the main goal is to
become internationally known such as Q.
2. I will use this from of promotion in order to connect to an older
audience as they may not have the means to access modern
technology.
The first thing I am going to do is put my magazine free inside a
national newspaper as a preview of what is coming on the
market in the hope that they will read it and like what they see
that they purchase the next copy from the shelves.
Secondly I will ask for an advertising slot on radio stations
nationwide and maybe try and ask some radio presenters on big
radio stations to name drop the magazine.
As well as radio I will place an advert for my magazine on an
advertisement slot on TV most likely on the music channels to
get my target audience.
Finally I will put posters and billboards up and places such as
bus stops and train stations to get the general public familiar
with the magazine name and image.
3. Modern Promotional methods are key to my magazine as I look
to bring in a predominantly younger audience so this is key top
this happening.
First way in which I will do this is by creating a website for my
magazine so that if anyone wanted more information on my
magazine this is where they could go.
Secondly id make a world wide awareness of my magazine by
creating social media pages on networks such as Facebook and
Twitter but just making the page wouldn’t be enough so I would
pay for promotion on these sights.
The last thing I would do is create an app for my magazine where
you can purchase every addition of the magazine as and when it is
released which means that people can purchase from home and
not have to leave the house just to get it.
