  2. 2. Use these easy to understand visual cards to help elementary students understand their roles in cooperative/collaborative group work.
  3. 3. Four Member Teams Resource Manager: Gets supplies, makes sure that the team cleans up and is the only member allowed to ask the teacher questions. Facilitator: Makes sure everyone gets started and has the important job of making sure that everyone understands the task and the concept that is learned. Task Manager: Watches the time in timed activities and keeps the group on task. (For example: not talking to other groups or wandering around room.) Recorder: Makes sure that everyone is taking their own notes, and is the person that goes to a huddle when the teacher calls for one and returns to share information with the group.

  8. 8. Five Member Teams It is recommended that elementary teams shift to 3 members instead of 5 in the event of odd numbered classes. For teams of 3 combine 2 roles. If you must have teams of 5, split the recorder job into two jobs: Recorder and Team Messenger Use the following task cards to replace the Recorder card.
