3. What Makes Us Unique
Cape Town presents a rich and vibrant art scene. The
success of the Cape Town ART FAIR has positioned the city
as the leading cultural hub on the African continent.
The Cape Town ART FAIR hosts the top African galleries
and cultural institutions as well as international visitors,
artists and collectors to come and enjoy the finest
contemporary art in Africa.
“Discovering through the
impeccably designed fair’s
space art from Africa, was
a thrilling and expiring
experience, making me
feeling to want more!”
Davide Quadrio (Director,
Arthub Asia, Shanghai)
4. “From a curatorial standpoint, this
miscellaneous of geographies
strongly pinned down the visitors
to think about those conceptual
routes through which Cape Town
has historically been linked with.”
Claudio Cravero (Chief Curator, King
Abdulaziz Center for World Culture,
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia)
“The Cape Town Art Fair allowed me to
discover more about the scene, get to know
the artists, the galleries and the recent
developments which will definitely influence
the whole region. I believe the fair has a
lot of potential to bring more international
art people to the city and to foster future
collaborations and partnerships.” Bige Orer
(Director, Istanbul Biennale, Turkey)
5. The Cape Town ART FAIR is the leading art fair in Africa
that brings the top exhibitors from the continent and its

overwhelming public interest as well as unmatched sales
fulfilling the following goals:
Consolidating the local art economy
Attracting top international collectors to Cape Town
Positioning Cape Town as the leading cultural hub in the
world for contemporary art from Africa
Creating a sustainable art market for contemporary art
from Africa by stimulating new business on the continent

support platforms that foster
an environment to explore
new ways of engaging with
contemporary art from Africa

continent.”Azu Nwagbogu

16. Strategies for 2017
Growth: To continue with the momentum of the Cape
Town ART FAIR to accommodate Hall 3 at the CTICC
taking the gross space to 6000sqm.
Sponsors & VIP Lounges: To give our invited guests
and sponsors the best experience of the Cape Town
ART FAIR we plan to host them with private facilities
within the CTICC.
New Section: To stay at the forefront of global
innovation in the artworld the Cape Town ART FAIR
plans to build a new section to accommodate large
museum quality sculptural installations that would not
normally fit in regular sized booths.
Attracting New Business:
Africa presents an untapped
resource of artistic production.
The goal is to provide a
sustainable art market and thus
to attract more galleries from
the continent as well as around
the world.
