Characters: short films tend to stick to 2 or 3
main characters.
Twist: To make the short film more interesting
Budget: Short films usually have a low budget.
This is based on the fact that most short films
directors are independent without the sufficient
backing in terms of funding.
Length: Short films usually have a maximum
length of 45 minutes and could be as short as 5
minutes.

3. A successful short film consists of:
• It should engage the audience
• It should be visual
• It should tell a story
• Strong Beginning
• Avoid repetition and punch line twist
