  2. 2. Throughout the year,<br />The Hague brims over with events, the highlight of which is the month of June, during which the popular festival period of The Hague takes place:<br />The Hague Festivals<br />The Hague Festivals 2009<br />

Is more than just the slogan of The Hague Festivals 2009,<br />it is the idea that we are free,<br />free to celebrate peace.<br />The Hague, as the international city of Peace and Justice, will celebrate by joining together the most diverse of activities, events and concerts for a full three weeks.<br />Feel free to celebrate!<br />
  4. 4. in cooperation with the Municipality of The Hague,<br />the World Sand Sculpting Academy WSSA/Sand Academy is organising the construction of a Sand Sculpture on the Buitenhof.<br />As part of The Hague Festivals 2009<br />

The large sculpture on the Buitenhof will be a compilation of the sculptures of <br />Gustav Vigeland,<br />where in the most dignified manner, the lifecycle of the human being is represented, from cradle to grave.<br />“Man&apos;s journey from cradle to grave, through happiness and grief, through fantasy, hope and wishes of eternity”.<br />Gustav Vigeland <br />Love and passion for life by the Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869 - 1943) masterly display in the park named after him in Oslo.<br />The sand sculpture<br />
