Seven Main Chakras & Yoga

Introduction
 Sunlight is our main source and provider of light, heat and energy. Not only does
sunlight sustain all life on Earth, but also it sustains the Earth itself.
 Sunlight consists of energies in the form of the electromagnetic waves and part of
this electromagnetic energy includes cosmic rays, gamma rays, x-rays, visible light
rays, infrared rays, micro waves and short and long waves (radio waves). We utilize
many of these energies in our daily lives.
 By holding a prism towards the sun, we can break down the visible spectrum of light
rays into seven different beams of color.
 Light consists of the seven color energies: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and
violet. We can see these seven colors in a rainbow, drop of rain or dew and even in a
snowflake
What are chakras ?
 Everything around us contains energy which can be absorbed by energy fields
within us through centers of energy called chakras. These chakras are
connected to all the vital organs and glands in the body. The word is derived
from the Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’
 The chakras are formed at the junction of three connected energy shafts that
ascend the spine, one on each side of the central channel, the Shushumna.
The two lesser channels of energy -- the Pingala on the right and Ida on the
left -- run parallel to the spinal cord. Chakras both take up and collect prana
(life force energy) and transform and pass on energy. Our material bodies
could not exist without them for they serve as gateways for the flow of energy
and life into our physical bodies.
Seven Main Chakras in Human Body
There are seven main chakras and they are located
along the spine extending out the front and back of
the body. Each chakra has a number of specific
qualities that correspond to the refinement of
energy from the base-level material-self identity,
located at the first chakras, up to the higher
vibration spirit-level awareness of being at our
crown. These energetic centers represent our
highest level of integration split, prism like, into a
spectrum of colors.

creative, imaginative, intuitive, attuned to your own feelings,
sense of humour
Deficient Energy Extremely shy, timid, immobilized by fear, overly sensitive, self-
negating, resentful, buried emotions, burdened by guilt,
distrustful, clinging, guilty about sex, difficult conceiving,
abused, frigid or impotent

Chakra Meditation
 The practice of meditation aligns the seven major chakras (which correspond to the
body’s major endocrine glands) with the power of the environment and the universe. It
fairly simple to perform this meditation as long as one remembers to focus on one
chakra at a time whilst having a clear mind.
 Simply sit still with your spine upright and focus on the particular chakra while taking a
deep slow breath. Start with focusing on the root chakra and working your way up
slowly to the crown chakra. Make sure you are in a comfortable position without any
surrounding distractions. As you focus on each of the chakra’s see beams of light
shooting out of you and entering the earth, the idea is to feel a sense of connection
with everything around you. Spend about 3-5 minutes per chakra and do not take
more than 30 minutes overall.
Benefits of Chakra Meditation
Although results are not achievable in a short time, 30 minutes of daily
meditation will reap many benefits; among them are as follow:
 A more positive outlook in terms of your thought processes and in your
perception and understanding of events and behaviours.
 Increased concentration, awareness and memory.
 Heightened creativity, better resourcefulness because of better perception.
 Better and deeper sleep; they will awake more refreshed in the morning
and overall health will also benefit by getting deeper sleep.
Benefits of Chakra Meditation
 Reduction of stress in all areas of your life because you will have better
control over your emotions and better patience.
 Improved overall health and well-being. It helps to lower blood
pressure which in turn can help prevent strokes and heart disease. It will
also alleviate the stress effect on people suffering from chronic
illnesses.
 A balanced and harmonious interdependent functions of the body’s
major chakras with one another is obtained. With that, the whole
body’s biological, emotional, and spiritual aspects become more
nourished and balance the body cleansing physical, emotional and
spiritual toxins

What is the True Goal of Meditation?
The ultimate goal of meditation is more than just
‘mindfulness’ or ‘being in the now’. Enlightenment,
Ananda, Self-Realization, Oneness with God, a state
of Grace, all these attempts to name or describe the
goal of meditation fall far short, inevitably, because
the goal of meditation is to transcend the mind and
experience directly the Oneness of the Universe –
something beyond thought or imagination, and
certainly beyond words.

  • 2. Introduction  Sunlight is our main source and provider of light, heat and energy. Not only does sunlight sustain all life on Earth, but also it sustains the Earth itself.  Sunlight consists of energies in the form of the electromagnetic waves and part of this electromagnetic energy includes cosmic rays, gamma rays, x-rays, visible light rays, infrared rays, micro waves and short and long waves (radio waves). We utilize many of these energies in our daily lives.  By holding a prism towards the sun, we can break down the visible spectrum of light rays into seven different beams of color.  Light consists of the seven color energies: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. We can see these seven colors in a rainbow, drop of rain or dew and even in a snowflake
  • 3. What are chakras ?  Everything around us contains energy which can be absorbed by energy fields within us through centers of energy called chakras. These chakras are connected to all the vital organs and glands in the body. The word is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’  The chakras are formed at the junction of three connected energy shafts that ascend the spine, one on each side of the central channel, the Shushumna. The two lesser channels of energy -- the Pingala on the right and Ida on the left -- run parallel to the spinal cord. Chakras both take up and collect prana (life force energy) and transform and pass on energy. Our material bodies could not exist without them for they serve as gateways for the flow of energy and life into our physical bodies.
  • 4. Seven Main Chakras in Human Body There are seven main chakras and they are located along the spine extending out the front and back of the body. Each chakra has a number of specific qualities that correspond to the refinement of energy from the base-level material-self identity, located at the first chakras, up to the higher vibration spirit-level awareness of being at our crown. These energetic centers represent our highest level of integration split, prism like, into a spectrum of colors.

  • 34. Chakra Meditation  The practice of meditation aligns the seven major chakras (which correspond to the body’s major endocrine glands) with the power of the environment and the universe. It fairly simple to perform this meditation as long as one remembers to focus on one chakra at a time whilst having a clear mind.  Simply sit still with your spine upright and focus on the particular chakra while taking a deep slow breath. Start with focusing on the root chakra and working your way up slowly to the crown chakra. Make sure you are in a comfortable position without any surrounding distractions. As you focus on each of the chakra’s see beams of light shooting out of you and entering the earth, the idea is to feel a sense of connection with everything around you. Spend about 3-5 minutes per chakra and do not take more than 30 minutes overall.

Enlightenment, Ananda, Self-Realization, Oneness with God, a state of Grace, all these attempts to name or describe the goal of meditation fall far short, inevitably, because the goal of meditation is to transcend the mind and experience directly the Oneness of the Universe – something beyond thought or imagination, and certainly beyond words.
