  2. 2. <ul><li>Third emperor of the Mughal Empire </li></ul><ul><li>Born on 15 th October,1542 </li></ul><ul><li>Succeeded his father Emperor Humayun in the year 1556, at the age of 13 years </li></ul><ul><li>Ascended the throne in delhi at the age of 13 years & 6 months. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Full Name – Abu’l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammed Akbar I </li></ul><ul><li>Made significant contribution in the field of Art. </li></ul><ul><li>Religious Beliefs- Din-i-Ilahi </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Full Name- Abu’l-Fath Jalal-ud-Din Muhammed Akbar I. </li></ul><ul><li>Religious Belief – Din-i-Ilahi. </li></ul><ul><li>He was an artisan, warrior, artist, armourer, blacksmith, carpenter, emperor, general, inventor, animal trainer, lace maker, technologist & technician. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Contributed to arts. </li></ul><ul><li>Initiated a large collection of literature, including the Akbar-nama & the Ain-i-Akbari. </li></ul><ul><li>A wise ruler & a sound judge of character . </li></ul><ul><li>Marriage proved to be a turning point in the history of Mughal Empire. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Always ready to risk his life, regardless of political consequences. </li></ul><ul><li>First battle was against Sikandar Shah Suri of Punjab. </li></ul><ul><li>Died in 27 th October,1605 </li></ul><ul><li>Also known for his Navratnas, the nine jewels in Akbar’s Court. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Navratnas were: </li></ul><ul><li>Abul-Fazel, his Grand Vizier </li></ul><ul><li>Faizi, the poet laureate </li></ul><ul><li>Miyan Tansen, the musician </li></ul><ul><li>Birbal, the only person other than Akbar who believed ion Din-i-Ilahi. His duties were mostly military & administrative </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Raja Todar Mal, finance minister </li></ul><ul><li>Raja Man Singh, a trusted general in Akbar’s army </li></ul><ul><li>Abdur Rahim Khan-I-Khana, poet </li></ul><ul><li>Fakir Aziao Din, one of Akbar’s chief advisor </li></ul><ul><li>Mullah Do Piaza, another chief advisor. </li></ul>
