    8. 8. Finding job ads • Online job sites – Check security if uploading CV – Don’t rely solely on this approach • “Meta sites” – search lots of online ad sites – eg. Careerjet, Indeed, SimplyHired Don’t wait until deadlines Apply as soon as reasonably possible

Recruitment Agencies Agencies work for EMPLOYERS • You don’t pay them, the employers do • Often need experience • Worth a try - but don’t be surprised if you don’t get much response from general agencies • Specialist agencies - good if you have experience • Careers Service website www.careers.manchester.ac.uk/students/findingwork/agencies

Employment Agencies • Emerging market for graduate & specialist jobs? • Permanent contract with the agency • Based within a big name employer • “Graduate training programme” at a company may be employed through an agency… • Starting to hear of this in banking, engineering, law, pharmaceutical sciences
