  3. 3. What makes the panel PCs robust and suitable for trains? MEN panel PCs withstand operating temperatures from -40° C up to +70° C (+85° C), as well as shock, vibration, drop, resonance, humidity, chemicals, etc. The electronics inside the IP65-protected housings come with firmly soldered components and conformal coating. All interfaces are realized via robust M12- connectors. They are especially designed for railway applications, come with wide range power supplies, and of course comply with the EN 50155 standard for railways.
  4. 4. For which applications can I use them? MEN currently offers three different COTS panel PCs: one with 8.4” display and based on Intel Atom, a 10.4” and a 12.1” display, based on an AMD Embedded G- Series. The 10.4” version is compliant to the UIC 612 railway standard. Experience has shown that these are most common sizes for driver cabs and HMIs, while all other displays like those used in the carriages for passenger infotainment, for example, are always completely dependent on the customer’s requirements. As the display’s board-level electronics are also available as single products, it is very easy to create customized designs with different housing sizes, if not currently offered in the standard product range. ➢ DC17 - Rugged 12.1" Panel PC with Touch Screen ➢ DC15 - Rugged 10.4" Panel PC with Front Keys or Touch Screen ➢ DC13 - Rugged 8.4" Panel PC with Front Keys
  5. 5. Which panel PC electronics are available? MEN offers different single-board-computers specially designed for display control. They are based on the COM Express standard, or come as a SBC-I/O- board-combination communicating with each other through the robust and fast CompactPCI Serial connector. Processor types range from Intel Atom, to AMD Embedded G-Series to an ARM Cortex-A9 (i.MX 6 series). PCI Express Mini Card slots, in combination with an external antenna, are used to incorporate wireless functions like WLAN/Wi-Fi, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, LTE, Bluetooth or GPS/GLONASS. Additional I/O include audio, UART or fieldbus interfaces. ➢ SC27 - Intel Atom SBC for Control of 7" to 15" Displays ➢ SC24 - AMD G-Series SBC for Control of Multiple 12" to 60" Displays ➢ CC10S - ARM i.MX 6 SBC for Control of Multiple 7" to 15" Displays
