Founded by area artists in 1875, the Art Students League of NewYork has played a key role in shaping the evolution of the fine arts in America. Jackson Pollock and Georgia O’Keeffe are just two of the masters who have studied there. In addition to sponsoring a range of exhibitions and special events, the Art Students League of NewYork hosts numerous classes and workshops throughout the year. One of the classes that the League currently offers is renowned painter and draftsman Robert Cenedella’s “Drawing from Life.” Stressing both fundamental technical knowledge and free experimentation, “Drawing from Life” is designed to benefit both novices and seasoned art students. This class uses a live nude model as its central subject, changing poses frequently during morning sessions and maintaining the same pose for three to four weeks during afternoon and evening sessions.
