Outlook for Week of August 12, 2019

  1. 1. Reversal Levels - Outlook for week of August 12, 2019  Number of S&P 500 stocks in bullish trends (blue line): 288 (57%) versus 316 last week.  Number of S&P 500 stocks in daily bullish mode (red line): 185 (37%) versus 172 last week.  Situation is bullish but the number of stocks in bullish trends is going down. The red line stays below the blue line. This is consistent with an ongoing pullback or correction. ©
  2. 2.  ELC: up | BMO: down | Blue snake: up | Repellor: up.  BMO stays bearish. ELC is still going up, but would paint a massive bearish divergence if it turns down as well. © S&P 500 Weekly chart
  3. 3.  Sell signals for Nikkei, FTSE 100 and DAX.  S&P 500, Australia AOI and Brazil Bovespa stay in weak bullish trends.  Bonds TLT are fully bullish.  Gold keeps giving a partial profits signal.   4. 4.  Sell signals for Italy MIB, Netherlands AEX, Singapore STI, SouthAfrica JOHA, Sweden OMX30, Thailand SET, Dow Transports and Russell 2000.  Bearish divergence for Indonesia JCI.  Partial profits signal for XAU Gold stocks.   5. 5.  Sell signal for CSCO, IBM and INTC.  Bearish divergence for AAPL and UTX.  Partial profits signal for MCD. A 34% gain in 48 weeks.  Partial profits signal for PG. A 34% gain in 42 weeks.  Partial profits signal for V. A 28% gain in 27 weeks.  17 stocks bullish, down from 20 last week. Below 20 = neutral market.   6. 6.  Buy signal for USDBRL, USDINR and USDMXN.  Currencies tend to make long trending moves, so we don’t get weekly Buy or Sell signals so often.  For daytraders or swing traders: if you do your trading in the direction of the weekly trend you are likely to do well in the long run.
