Intuition: What is it and why is it important? Intuition is that inner knowing which can help us access answers to questions, we all rely so much on data and facts that in this busy world, many of us have lost this ability. When was the last time you had a gut feel about something, then ignored it? What happened then? I have put together a modular series of presentations on Intuition for the workplace, which I call Intuition at Work. The file I am sharing gives you an overview of the principles and I have other modules which I adapt depending on the nature of the business. Any feedback or queries would be most welcome!

Why is intuition important? <ul><li>We focus so much on data, numbers, facts we don’t listen to ourselves </li></ul><ul><li>By listening to our intuition we can make more informed decisions </li></ul><ul><li>Better communication with others </li></ul><ul><li>Our intuition has all the answers, we don’t ask the questions! </li></ul>

How do you recognise your intuition? <ul><li>It is unique to each individual </li></ul><ul><li>Think about something you love </li></ul><ul><li>How do you feel? </li></ul><ul><li>Think about something you really dislike </li></ul><ul><li>How do you feel? </li></ul><ul><li>Notice the feeling, what goes through your mind, any taste, smell, sensation </li></ul>

Right brain/left brain <ul><li>Right brain is creative, intuitive, inventive </li></ul><ul><li>Left brain is logical, data orientated </li></ul><ul><li>Extremes on either side are undesirable </li></ul><ul><li>To develop your right brain…….. </li></ul><ul><li>To develop your left brain……. </li></ul>

Ego blocks <ul><li>The conscious mind (ego) is a censor: </li></ul><ul><li>Fear </li></ul><ul><li>Habit </li></ul><ul><li>Stress </li></ul><ul><li>Our conscious mind feeds these blocks </li></ul><ul><li>Tell your mind your intuition is in charge </li></ul><ul><li>Tell it in advance </li></ul>

Removing ego blocks <ul><li>Positive affirmations – and mean it! </li></ul><ul><li>Go with the flow </li></ul><ul><li>Watch what you think and say – no certainly, definitely, absolutely </li></ul><ul><li>Creative writing, visualisation, day dreaming, doodling, music, mind mapping, brainstorming </li></ul><ul><li>Allow ideas to incubate </li></ul><ul><li>Listen to yourself and your body </li></ul>
