2. RULES OF THE GAME: Each player chooses an identity card. On
these cards is an identity that includes yearly salary, credit score, and
monthly bills. The card shows salary minus monthly expenses, giving each
player a “bottom line” for their possible spending money during the game,
and an itemized list of the monthly bills to aid in financial planning. Each
player has a calculator and score card to add in or subtract from the total
net worth as the game progresses, to keep track of their progress. All the
players are in close proximity in salary, but differ in credit score, rent/own,
and other assets at the beginning of the game.
As players travel around the board with the roll of the die, they take
Choice cards and have to make choices about saving or spending. Gamble
cards involve future moves based on what the player experiences later in
the game or at the end of the game. They also have one-time
emergencies or windfalls in the Luck cards. All cards are kept except
Gamble, which can either be kept or discarded back to the bottom of the
Gamble deck.
At the end of the game, each player adds in the Gamble cards they chose
to keep, chooses an “end” card that sums up their net worth, and the
person with the most savings/net worth wins.
