  2. 2. OBJECTIVES OF TODAY’S LESSON  State correctly the meaning of AutoCAD.  Summarizes the history of AutoCAD.  Give examples of five careers which involve AutoCAD.
  3. 3. DEFINITION OF AUTOCAD  AutoCAD is a computer software that can be used to create accurate two and three dimensional drawings. CAD is an acronym which means Computer Aided Design.
  4. 4. BRIEF HISTORY OF AUTOCAD  The technology known as AutoCAD was first developed in 1982 for two-dimensional applications. There have been many upgrades since that time that feature advanced 3D functions for creating design models and fully-rendered drawings, resulting in many jobs that use AutoCAD.
