The company started as a traditional media organisation and was the 2009 Australian Small Business Award State Winner. In 2010 Loft pivoted its business model to being “Born on the Web”, and then in 2011 further increased its reach and offerings as a Creative Digital Agency. In 2012 Loft successfully implemented its first iteration of the Digital Education Platform (DEP) within Kérastase. In that same year, and due to its overwhelming success, Loft was commissioned to implement further instances of DEP across other L'Oréal brands in both Australia and New Zealand. At that time Loft engaged leading cloud infrastructure and platform provider IBM as a strategic partner. Loft expanded with the opening of Sydney and Melbourne offices due to strong client demand for creative digital and software development services. 2013 was a progressive year that saw a number of important and transforming initiatives; offshore software development team, pivot towards software & mobile application development, introduction of investment capital and an independent Board of Directors. Our strategic partner, IBM, invited Loft to participate in the IBM Pulse Conference in Las Vegas. Loft was promoted on the main stage, media events and ‘thought leader’ panel discussions. This milestone was supported by international press articles such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BRW, Australian Financial Review and other mainstream publications. In 2014 Loft developed a Clinical Diagnostic Research Tool (CDRT) for the WA Health Department & Genetic Services Western Australia (GSWA) which resulted in successful proof of concept trials followed by an engagement to conduct further trials and product development. Since 2014 Loft has expanded DEP within L'Oréal PPD (L'Oréal, Kérastase, Matrix, Redken, and Shu Uemura). 2015 and 2016 was a period of consolidation, where Loft was showcased by IBM as leader in cloud technologies which led to regular public speaking engagements and national sales presentations. As Loft’s reputation continued to evolve and transform, the company was acknowledged by IBM globally with acceptance into the IBM Watson Ecosystem.

In 2017 Loft underwent a corporate restructure to delineate the group assets into specific SPVs in the effort to provide greater commercial opportunities, including the introduction of specific domain experts to a particular SPV. In that same year DEEP was conceived with the appointment of Sophie Shugg as Co-Founder. The first quarter of 2018 is a period of consolidation and capitalising on existing opportunities. Ventures has introduced a strategic advisory panel with experts across a broad range of areas to work with the Directors and help steer the company to greater success. Timeline: The Loft Group

Ventures plans to grow its portfolio with further acquisitions as well as commercialising current opportunities, and has begun early stage preparations to introduce a co-operative investment fund.   Ventures’ current portfolio includes four separate SPVs (special purpose vehicles), each established to house a specific opportunity. Each SPV is supported by back-office and operational synergies, as well as cross‐selling and distribution opportunities. Each SPV has its own P&L accountability, including varying revenue streams and target markets. Ventures’ growth strategy is through further acquisitions to add to its existing portfolio as well as investing to capitalise on current opportunities through the introduction of referral and channel partner networks and required internal resources. Our Philosophy Ventures approaches each opportunity with a considered and validated philosophy; ensuring there is a strong management team with a specific domain expert (Co-Founder), a large potential market, and a uniqueness (product or service) with a distinct competitive advantage. MAI has undergone eighteen months of research and discovery, six months in a proof of concept, and now product trials are underway with three separate clinical interest groups in Western Australia. MAI is scalable, validated, and heavily endorsed (by clinicians themselves) technical platform. DEEP was established by The Loft Group with the intention of assisting organisations with clear Corporate Social Responsibility objectives, by empowering them with digital tools. The long term view of the DEEP program is to address - through its partners - such areas as gender-based violence, aggression faced by medical staff and child protection. DEEP is presently working with an Internationally-recognised non-government organisation to create a platform to aid the NGO in assuring its child protection policies across its operations. The organisation has operations across the globe, including in disaster-affected areas. In these scenarios, the rapid deployment of staff and engagement of volunteers is critical to the effectiveness of operations. At the same time, however, the protection of children remains at the highest priority and the NGO thereby must create and adhere to strict and often onerous on-boarding protocols to ensure both of these goals are met. The DEEP platform features a range of modules that allow the NGO not only to streamline these procedures, but also to maintain better compliance monitoring, records retention and recall, and to disseminate key knowledge and principles to a larger body of staff and volunteers via on-demand e-Learning modules.   Venture: Loft Education Holdings Pty Ltd [“DEEP”]
