Day 2- St. Supery Vineyard <ul><li>Brief History: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>There are two St. Supery Vineyards - Dollarhide and Rutherford (Winery). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In the 1980's, Skalli, a French family, bought Dollarhide which was an old 1800's Horse ranch.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Over 500 acres of Bordeaux varieties are planted on the Dollarhide Ranch. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The family also acquired Rutherford Vineyard which is the home of the winery. Over 35 acres of land are planted at this winery. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Today there are more than 1500 acres of grapes planted at the St. Supery VIneyards.  </li></ul></ul>

The Winery - Rutherford <ul><li>2nd Floor Art Gallery: </li></ul><ul><li>There is a Gallery to view on the 2nd floor which showcases different art exhibits each month. </li></ul><ul><li>Tasting Rooms: </li></ul><ul><li>Taste the St. Supery wines in the Tasting Room or in the Divine Wine Room. </li></ul><ul><li>The Divine Wine Room focuses on the finest Estate wines and is open during the weekends. </li></ul><ul><li>Tastings in the Divine Wine Room range from $15-$25. </li></ul><ul><li>Sunday - See behind the scenes </li></ul><ul><li>View the wine cellar and learn about the winemaking process. </li></ul><ul><li>Tour is every Sunday from 11am-12pm. </li></ul>

Day 3- Robert Mondavi Winery <ul><li>History: </li></ul><ul><li>In 1966 Robert Mondavi set out to found the first major winery built in the valley since prohibition. </li></ul><ul><li>Current Releases: </li></ul><ul><li>Fume Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Moscato d’Ora (Varietal Composition:100% Muscat Canelli) </li></ul><ul><li>Vineyards: </li></ul><ul><li>The winegrowing team believes that great wine is a reflection of its origin. Day 4- Clos Pegase Winery <ul><li>History </li></ul><ul><li>Jan Shrem dominated the Japanese publishing industry </li></ul><ul><li>1968- Jan sold his publishing company and moved to Europe </li></ul><ul><li>Jan then enrolled into an enology program at the University of Bordeaux </li></ul><ul><li>1983- Clos Pegase was founded in the Napa Valley by Jan Shrem and his wife Mitsuko </li></ul>
  17. 17. <ul><li>Clos Pegase Culture </li></ul><ul><li>Clos- French word for an enclosed vineyard or an estate winery, where every wine is made from that vineyard's own grapes </li></ul><ul><li>Pegase- French word for Pegasus </li></ul><ul><li>Bacchus- Was god of vegetation and fertility until he was promoted to god of wine </li></ul><ul><li>Ganymedes- He is the cup-bearer for the gods and goddesses on Mount Olympus </li></ul>
