Hanging A rope would of been tied round your neck wiles standing on a stool. They remove the stool making you fall and suffocating you to death. Burning Women found guilty would of been burned alive at the stake. Boiled Alive For trying to murder someone you would of been boiled in hot water. Being pressed CRUSHED
  6. 6. CRIME & PUNISHMENT Lesser punishments for committing crime included: Whipping There a many whipping posts I every town. You get whipped if you steal. Branding You would have been branded with a hot iron. Murder M Vagrants V Thieves T The Pillory It was made out of wood and was T shaped. There head is put in the midlle. The Ducking Stool A person who where classed as a witch would of been dunked In water several times. If they floated they where classed guilty. Who drowned where classed inasent.

The Brank If you where caught gossiping,they used the Brank. The brank was a metal cage that surrounded your face that whuld stop you opening your mouth. The Drunkard’s Cloke If you where being to drunk they would put barrel other your head with holes to put your hands and head. Limbs Cut Off Chop they the victims hand off.
