Eye SurgeriesFounded in 1949 to provide surgeries for one young boy, theLighthouse now helps 350 people receive surgeries annually.
Eye Clinics• The Lighthouse partners with 23 free clinics throughout the state.• Annually, we now provide 5,000 eyeglasses and over 2,500 eye exams to low income Georgians. Preventative Care “I am so grateful for this clinic and everyone who is involved with it,” says Irish, a patient who could have gone several years without seeing any signs of glaucoma, and was at serious risk of going blind. She now is educated about glaucoma, takes her medication every night, and regularly comes for checkups.
Hearing Services• The Lighthouse provided 1,815 hearing aids last year throughout Georgia. Hearing loss not only affects the person with the loss, but also their family and friends.
Eyeglass Recycling• Over 50,000 pairs of eyeglasses sent to developing nations each year.
