PERSONAL SKETCH BOOKS
What
Here are a few spreads form the A5 sketch books
I keep to experiment with colour, found images,
composition and typography. I like to refer back
to these as often as possible when working on
jobs that need a touch of uniqueness. There is no
hidden meaning with the spreads, they are simply
compositions that are to me, are visually appealing.

What 1950’s
I derive my inspiration from the art and typefaces
of the illustrated annuals of the 50’s and 60’s –
the golden age of pen and ink. I love isolating and
re-situating these classic drawings and words to
create a whole new perspective. There is no
hidden meaning to my art. It just looks cool.

COKE (Lift Plus) LAUNCH BROCHURE
What
I created this A2, folded to A4 brochure using a cut
and paste technique. The objective was to create an
information piece that seemed as though it was created
by ‘MAD’ Scientists and printed on a backyard press.
This piece won an AGDA Finalist Award.

PERSONAL PROMOTIONAL POSTCARDS
What
These postcards were designed be sent out to
prospective employees. They were created using
found images and photographs I had taken.
There is no hidden message behind the design,
they are just supposed to be visually engaging
and curious.

FARAGE MENSWEAR FLYER
What
This is a small piece I created to launch the new
seasons range of Farage menswear. The simplicity
of design, texture and quality of paper stock
give the job the sophistication the client was after.

EYE MANAGEMENT IDENTITY igned for job
What
Eye Management is an unconventional and cool
hair stylist group. I created a unique typeface intended
to be clean, simple and hip. Combined with the unusual
texture of Cromatico, this gave the job the exclusivity
and ‘wow’ factor the client was after.

SLIP INN FLYERS (Chinese Laundry)
What
This was a quick flyer created for the 2000 NYE party
at the Slipp Inn. I took graphic influence from my
sketch books. The simplicity of design is to represent
the electronic, minimal sounds of Plank Records DJ
Bushwacka.

Designed to be clean and simple so that the swimsuits
would stand out. For the background props, smooth
flowing curves were cut from large polystyrene blocks
which represented water and waves. We shot this job

FRICKER SYSTEMS 24 PAGE BROCHURE
What
I like this spread because of the use
of clean simple lines which locate buildings in the
CBD that have had Fricker Systems installed. The
lines also create a pattern which is a representation
of one of Fricker’s many ceiling panel designs.
The up-side down type also engages the reader
to consider the product.
