The roman road

  1. 1. The Roman Road
  2. 2. What is the Roman Road to Salvation? It is an effective soul-winning tool thatpresents the Gospel to sinners using theBiblical book of Romans. It helps you use scriptures to explain topeople why we are all born into sin and haveneed of a Savior. It will also explain whothe Savior is.
  3. 3. I was saved at the age of 13 in Chicago. I remembermy first soul-winning experience while going door-to-door soul-winning with other members of ourchurch youth group. An adult women answered the door and after a briefintroduction, I asked her, “Do you know for sure ifyou died this moment that you would go toHeaven?” She replied, “No.” I asked her if I couldshare the Gospel with her and she agreed. I wasstumped and didnt know what to say. I froze. So Iread to her the Gospel tract in my hand, which wascalled “The Romans Road.”
  4. 4. I couldnt explain anything more to her other thanwhat I was reading. I remember feeling frustratedand ill-prepared. I recall telling her that she couldcall my pastor if she had further questions and Ipointed out the churchs phone number on back ofthe Gospel tract. I went away sad because I had theopportunity to win someone to Christ but didntunderstand it enough myself to explain it. I wenthome that afternoon and memorized The RomansRoad and was determined to be prepared the nexttime I went out soul-winning.
  5. 5. All Have Sinned. When Adam sinned, he brought the curse of sinupon all mankind. This is why everyone is born witha nature to sin, it has been passed down sinceAdam.Romans 3:10 ~ As it is written: “There is no onerighteous, not even one;Romans 3:23 ~ for all have sinned and fall short ofthe glory of God,Romans 5:12 ~ Therefore, just as sin entered theworld through one man, and death through sin, andin this way death came to all people, because allsinned—
  6. 6. There is a Penalty for Sin.Romans 6:23 ~ For the wages of sin is death, but thegift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  7. 7. Death is the penalty for sin, Physical Death and aSecond Death. Most people confuse spiritual deathwith the Second Death. We are born spiritually-dead. Adam and Eve died spiritually the momentthey sinned, and all of their descendants since havebeen born spiritually-dead. This is why a personmust be born-again spiritually. Gods Holy Spirit isthat spiritual life. The Bible also speaks of a SecondDeath, which means being cast into the Lake of Fireforever as punishment for our sins. Just as a personis paid wages for work performed on the job, sodoes God payback sinners in the Lake of Fire.
  8. 8. Jesus Paid Our Sin Debt.Romans 5:8~ But God demonstrates his own love forus in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died forus.God in His love decided to give mankind a chance toescape the wrath of Gods judgment. Jesus cameand laid down His life for us, knowing just howmessed up the human race is. God expressed Hislove for humanity, paying mens sin debt, knowingthat we are undeserving.
  9. 9. Call Upon the Lord Jesus to Be Saved.Romans 10:13 ~ “Everyone who calls on the name ofthe Lord will be saved.”The word “call” means “to appeal unto.” Lost sinnerswho come to Jesus for forgiveness of sins, believingthat He is the Christ, the Son of God, will be saved. How much faith do you need to be saved? Justenough faith to obey Romans 10:13 and trust uponthe Lord Jesus for salvation.
