Most people do not know that Google has some cool tricks available to make your
searching more fruitful.
• Search exact phrases using quotations marks e.g. “to be or not to be”
• Exclude a word from your search to be more exact e.g. pretty woman –movie
• Search within a website e.g. recipes site:theguardian.com
• Search in a specific location e.g. prince george pub location:london
• Find a specific file type e.g. annual report filetype:pdf
• Use a wildcard when you don’t know all the words e.g. what goes * must come *
