2. The project will partner with key non-governmental and private
sector organizations already active in solid waste management
and disposal such as:
Community groups
Schools
NGOs
Environmental organizations
Businesses
Public transportation organizations
3. Participate in campaign activities and to encourage participation
of members and constituents in:
community and household composting
use fewer plastics
re-using items
community clean-up efforts
monitoring of communities for dumping and educating them
on how to take action to stop this by reporting this to the
NDC and the Ministry of Local Government hotline, or by
publically highlighting these activities as a deterrent: SHAME
ON YOU
utilizing the communication tools (brochures, etc.) to
educate their constituencies

Co-ordinate a four (4) month intensive effort to see clean-up
activities and other waste reduction interventions
Interested groups and organizations will be invited to a
seminar to share information and to solicit their input and
support for project activities
Community groups will be engaged in composting
demonstrations and community support meetings in the
areas selected for the composting pilot
Engagement will be sustained through the use of the project
website and social media.

Groups working in those communities selected for the
composting pilot will be invited to be actively engaged in its
implementation. We will provide training and support in order
to develop the capacity to sustain the approach beyond the
life of this project.
We will ask them to report on how project communication
tools are being used and to assist in monitoring the behavior
change initiatives, i.e. the use of re-usable bags and
composting, and to report on these.
