All rights reserved. | Why the sys schema? • Performance Schema exposes a huge amount of data, that can be sliced and diced in many ways • Many of its tables can implement many different use cases when looking at the raw data • The sys schema layers on top the (sometimes complex) queries in to a packaged set of easy to use views • The sys schema also layers on a number of functions and procedures that help format, and record the raw data
