  2. 2. I asked the following questions to a wide range of people, to gain an overview of the type of thriller film my potential audience would enjoy. I asked a wide range of over 15’s, as this is the minimum film certificate we will use due to the genre. <br />
  3. 3. What elements do you prefer to see in a thriller film?<br />As you can see, out of the four sub-genres listed, ‘Psychological’ thrillers have proved to be the most popular.<br />
  4. 4. What location do you class as a typical ‘Thriller setting’?<br />As you can see, the majority of participants believe that ‘The Woods’ is a typical thriller setting.<br />
  5. 5. What characters do you enjoy seeing in a Thriller film?<br />As you can see, the participants enjoy watching thriller films with a varied age range of characters.<br />
  6. 6. What elements do you find effective in a thriller opening?<br />As you can see, most of the participants decided that meeting the characters in a thriller opening is effective. <br />
  7. 7. Do you believe the opening of a film sets up an impression for the rest of the film?<br />As you can see, the majority of participants believe that the opening of a film sets up an impression for the rest of the film.<br />
  8. 8. Conclusion...<br />From these results, I have been given many things to consider. Firstly, as psychological thrillers have proved the most preferred sub-genre, this could be one our group uses for our film opening. We will also consider using a wide range of different characters, and effective elements such as meeting the characters in order to set up a good impression for the rest of the film.<br />
