Project: Leadership Focused on Human Flourishing
Topic: The Dilemma of the neighborhood Board
1. Self-diagnosis based on self-knowledge.
Leaders must make an introspection to be aware of their limits, weaknesses, and strengths.
for the neighborhood leader, this will be fundamental, so this person will know until what
moment he or she will be capable of keep tolerating or handling this type of situation. If the
person feels worn down and wants to quit, there is no problem on that, is totally fine, people
just need to accept and know themselves and be sure that is what you need in order to feel in
peace.
2. Self-diagnosis based on emotional intelligence.
As I mentioned in the previous self-diagnosis one of the most important aspects to consider
for a leader is to feel peace and happy with what he or she is doing. Emotional stability for a
leader is also fundamental, because they need to be stable and strong people to be able to
influence others in a positive way and to act in the best way possible. In this case, emotions
are key for the leader to overcome the challenges the neighborhood is facing and face them
with the best attitude.
3. Self-diagnosis based on social intelligence.
Other characteristic of key aspect that leaders need to dominate in social intelligence, leaders
must be capable of handling good relationships with the people of their surroundings, also
effective communication skills are critical for this role. As the leader of the neighborhood,
social intelligence is needed for hearing every neighbor’s complaint and worries and try to
address them in the best way.
4. Action plan with a self-development element.
As the leader of my neighborhood board, I will try to make some surveys or gather the
opinion of every neighbor to make an order of complaints depending on the level of
importance, so I will give priority to the most delicate and important ones first and then I will
find solutions for addressing every challenge. In this way I will avoid the overwhelming of
receiving at any time of the day the plenty of complaints. Also, it will be a great idea to
establish a schedule to attend every neighbor.
5. Action plan with a positive relationship element.
To complement the plan mentioned in the previous question, it will be a wonderful idea to
establish a meeting for the neighborhood for discussing the progress for every problem stated,
to review what’s pending, to accept also new complaints and to hear everyone’s opinion.
This meeting can be done in a monthly basis, depending on the importance and urgency of
every problem,
