She was best known for a series written between 1980 and 1999,centred around the lives of a group of young barristers practicing in Lincoln’s Inn. She wrote "The Sirens Sang of Murder" (1989), "The Oxford Book of Detective Stories" (2000) and " Women Before the Bench" (2001), among others.
