After early definition of objectives, the course will be tailored to meet the needs of thestudent :Develop fluency through role-play, communicative exercises, and pronunciation, usingauthentic and purpose-written documents as a base for discussion and to introduce awider range of vocabulary.The student will be taught by a team of two teachers in order to expose him to variousintonations, melodies and speeds.Langue & CommunicationLe centre de ressources
  6. 6. • For professional purposes, we shall work on acquiring the skillsneeded in a professional context : i.e.• Negotiation, presentations, discussions, understanding of thecodes, etc. The documents used will be authentic and willmatch specific situations.• Develop the comprehension skills through regular andprogressive comprehension exercises using a wide range ofmethods and authentic recordings.• Develop the comprehension skills through a communicativeapproach and by using progressive exercises in situations.Langue & Communication

A questionnaire is submitted to the studentbefore his arrival in Rennes.It is very important for us to co-ordinate ourteaching with any previous training as thisincreases the efficiency and effectiveness of ourwork.We will endeavour to arrange contacts with localbusiness, politicians, charities, non-governmental organisations, and local ornational government departments.This is a very important part of the training as itallows the student to understand the political,economic and cultural differences in France.Langue & Communication

We have a team of teachers, all of whomare highly qualified (masters degrees inteaching French as a foreign language), withseveral years experience in teachingprofessionals.Langue & CommunicationWe consider it very important to meet formally atthe end of every week to co-ordinate our programsand exchange thoughts on the students progress inorder to optimise the training.We have been involved in publishing teachingmaterial and are regularly involved in overseasprojects.

We have links with local government administration; and have established an interestingnetwork which allows us, during the course, to introduce the students to French professionalsfrom a similar background and to arrange contacts with politicians, local/national governmentdepartments (conseil régional, général, municipalité, administrations) in order to provide themwith means of understanding the political, economical, social and cultural environment.Langue & CommunicationWe prepare these meetings (language, questions, briefing on the company, etc…) but arepurposely not present at the encounter.

Langue & CommunicationThis is arranged in the house of a carefully selected family, on a half-board basisduring the week, full board at the weekend.We try to match the host family to the students interests and profession whenpossible.The house is comfortable : single room with private bathroom when possible.The hostess will take care of the laundry. An evening meal is served every day,and offers the opportunity to become involved in French "way of life". During theweekend, the host family organises outings to "discover" the region.The host family offers the ideal environment, in which the student cancommunicate in the French language exploiting the skills and confidence that thecourse will generate.
